Hi friends š¤
If youāve been around Little Messy Kitchen for a while, you may have noticed things have been a little quieter here since last summer. I wanted to take a moment to share why ā and where weāre headed next.
Last year was a big one for our family. I was pregnant, chasing after a busy toddler, and doing my best to soak up every moment before welcoming a new little human into our lives. As many parents know, pregnancy, newborn life, and adjusting to a growing family comes with a whole new rhythm ā and for a while, that rhythm didnāt leave much room for recipe testing, food photography, or blog writing.
And honestly? That was okay.
Little Messy Kitchen has always been rooted in real life. Messy counters. Busy days. Food made with love, not perfection. Taking a step back to focus on my family felt like the right choice, even if it meant pressing pause on something I care deeply about.
Now, Iām happy to say that pause is slowly coming to an end.
Iām easing back into work on Little Messy Kitchen, starting behind the scenes ā cleaning things up, improving the site, and making sure everything runs smoothly. Once that foundation is in place, Iāll be back in the kitchen creating and sharing new recipes again. Simple, family-friendly meals you can actually make on a busy day ā just like always.
I also wanted to share something new and close to my heart.
From now on, 50% of all donations received through Little Messy Kitchen will be donated to Cause for Critters ā an organization that helps animals in need and does incredible work with compassion and care. The remaining 50% will go directly toward keeping the site running: hosting costs, maintenance, and the tools needed to continue sharing free recipes and content here.
This felt like the right balance ā a way to give back while also supporting the long-term sustainability of Little Messy Kitchen.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your support ā whether youāve been following for years or youāre just finding this little corner of the internet now.
The kitchen may be messy, life may be busy, but Iām so excited to be cooking and sharing again.
With gratitude,
ā¤ļø Jo
