  • 15 oz italian sausage, crumbled
  • 8 oz fusilli, uncooked  
  • 1 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 green onions, divided
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 213 ml tomato sauce
  • 156 ml tomato paste
  • 284 ml tomato soup
  • 5 oz fresh spinach
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make It

Sauté the Aromatics & Sausage

Heat oil or butter in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add minced garlic and the white parts of the green onions. Sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the crumbled Italian sausage and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small or large pieces based on your preference.

Add the Pasta & Sauce Ingredients

Stir in uncooked fusilli, chicken broth, milk, Italian seasoning, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and tomato soup. Mix well to evenly coat the pasta in the sauce.

Simmer Until Pasta is Cooked

Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Cover the skillet or Dutch oven with a lid and let the pasta cook for about 15 minutes, or until it reaches an al dente texture and absorbs the flavors tomato sauce.

Add Spinach & Green Onions

Once the pasta is cooked, add fresh spinach and the remaining green onion tops. Turn off the heat and cover for 5 minutes, allowing the spinach to wilt. Stir well to evenly distribute the spinach throughout the pasta.

Season & Serve
