What You’ll Need

Ingredients (Per Sandwich)

  • Lettuce
  • 2 Slices of Tomato
  • 1 slice of Bacon cut in half
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Slices of Bread
  • Salt and Pepper (Optional)
  • Mayonnaise (Optional)

Equipment I Used

How to Make It

Cook the Bacon

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place 1 slice of bacon per sandwich on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cook the bacon in the oven for 10 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 10 minutes, or until the bacon reaches your desired level of crispiness. Once done, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Prepare the Egg

While the bacon is cooking in the oven, heat a small amount of butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place a round cookie cutter in the skillet and crack 1 egg into the cutter to keep it perfectly round. Cook the egg to your preferred doneness—sunny side up, over-easy, or fully cooked through. Once cooked, carefully remove the egg from the skillet, and set it aside. Note: Note: Unlike me, make sure you slightly grease your cookie cutter to prevent the egg from sticking

Toast the Bread (Optional)

While the bacon and egg are cooking, lightly toast 2 slices of your favorite bread in a toaster or on a griddle. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, try my homemade bread recipe for an extra special touch. You can spread a little butter or mayonnaise on the bread for extra flavor.

Assemble the Sandwich

Start by placing one slice of toasted bread on a plate. Layer on a few pieces of fresh lettuce. Add 2 slices of tomato, evenly spaced. Place the cooked bacon strips on top of the tomato. Carefully add the cooked egg on top of the bacon. Top with the second slice of toasted bread.
